SOMATH is built on the belief that the standard U.S. math curriculum covers too many topics too shallowly — prioritizing breadth over depth. Our program does the opposite. We focus on genuine mastery of core mathematical thinking across what we call Spheres of Proficiency: Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry. Students don't move on until they truly understand a concept, which means the skills they build are durable and transferable — not just test-day memory.

Our 5-month programs are designed by Harvard and Northwestern-trained math teachers using progressive curriculum, not whatever homework a student brings in that week. We combine group classes (for community and dynamic learning) with private attention (for individual gaps), and our students don't just keep up — they accelerate. Our students typically advance 1.5 years ahead of their school's curriculum in a single 5-month program.

Because grade level is a poor indicator of where a student actually is mathematically. Yes. We offer dedicated courses in AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics, each aligned with the College Board curriculum. These courses are suitable for students in grades 9 and above and are designed to build both conceptual understanding and the exam-taking fluency needed to score a 4 or 5.
